Melanka Herbut was born in 1950. After studying engineering, she worked as a professional in social services, and since 1983 also in the arts field. She has been a professional artist since 1992, with a specialization in painting and photoart. Melanka Herbut created a wandering exhibition as a social project, touring in Europe. A modern “Way of the cross” for handicapped and blind people, where all works can be touched and read in Braille alphabet in five different languages. She also works as a restorer of historic paintings and as a specialist for gildings. She lives and works in Germany and in Porec (Istria/Croatia).
In the past five years Melanka earned several international awards in some of the most recognized platforms for contemporary art in Europe.
