Gioia Villanova was born in Treviso, Italy, in 1981, and showed interest and a natural propensity towards various art forms since her earlies childhood. She began her artistic training studying pencil on paper drawing and learning ceramic and clay techniques. Her constant need to improve brought her to approach new mediums, such as photography, painting on canvas and plaster work. She has experience working with watercolor, tempera, acrylic, enamel, noble metals, application of precious and semiprecious stones, Swarovski crystals, Venetian glass dust, combined with synthetic materials.
After some collaborations as a stylist and jewelry designer in the world of fashion, since 2008 she has been focusing on her work as an artist and a curator, that took her from Europe to the United Arab Emirates, to Japan. She has also worked on institutional projects aimed at the dissemination of Italian culture abroad, founding the “Italian Art Academy” to promote the study of Italian culture in other countries. She has exhibited her works in Italy, France, and Spain.
